Banksia prionotes Dwarf Acorn Banksia
Features: An attractive tall shrub to small tree growing around 1.5m in height. The foliage is highly ornamental, being deeply serrated and linear. The eye-catching flowers occur in profusion during Autumn and Winter, covering the branch tips in acorn shaped, orange spikes.
Planting Ideas: This decorative banksia can be grown in large tubs and is suitable for general garden use. Grown commercially for cut flowers.
Conditions: Requires areas where Summers are dry, in well drained soils in full sun to light shade. Tolerates some coastal exposure. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
