Banksia spinulosa Birthday Candles
FEATURES: Hardy, compact shrub with dense, dark green foliage. The stars of the show are the beautiful 15cm tall, orange-yellow flower spikes with burgundy looped styles appearing from autumn through to spring.
CONDITIONS: Banksias prefer well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerant of dry sites and drought conditions once established.
Frost hardy.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Mulch soil well with low nutrient materials and a little compost.
PLANTING IDEAS AND USES:
• Will flower under tall trees such as eucalypts that allow filtered light through.
